Path to Hack-ality

Path to Hack-ality

Around about 2017, a total solar eclipse captured the country’s imagination. And Adam’s. He made pencils to commemorate the solar journey. I grabbed it from the pencil jar after FINALLY passing the Steinbeck stage with this General’s Cedar Pointe 2HB that seemed never to dull or shorten.

The Path of Totality pencil — you’ll have to ask Adam where he had it made — writes shockingly well. The eraser, this is another story. I tried to remove a mark with the eraser and yelped and recoiled at the way the F-minus rubber collided with and repelled the (pretty good) paper. It was like trying to mop the floor with a bowling ball.

A-plus pencil, F-minus eraser: that’s hackwing territory.
