Blackwing x Independent Bookstore Day or the Perks of Having a Cool Sister

I will never complain about having a sibling who runs an independent bookstore. The creativity, hard work, and community mindset she brings to the work is continually inspiring. And there are occasional perks to my vicarious social standing. I have beautiful hard covers signed by David Sedaris and Bryan Washington. My children experience the finest kid lit on the market. I can whisper “book please” into the sunset and they start shooting through my mail slot like Hogwarts letters.

And in the latest act of unearned favoritism, I now have in-hand a few of these beautiful Blackwing x Indy Bookstore Day pencils. These things just jumped out of the FedEx envelope like a party in a box. They ooze fun, from the bright yellow eraser to the teal barrel with pops of gold.
