Stealing from children

At times I'm removing stickers left on the furniture or the floor and slapping them on my notebook because it's less wasteful than throwing them out (perhaps). At other times I am taking stickers from my youngest son when he isn't looking. Why? Because people will just give stickers away to children (children who will waste these precious scraps), while adults trying to score free stickers get very dirty looks.
